Use a Pneumatic Forklift
Pneumatic forklifts are common in shipping and warehouse operations. Also called pallet trucks or pump trucks, they are used to move products and materials around on wooden pallets utilizing metal forks mounted on a wheeled counterweight. The counterweight has a pump which raises the forks off the ground. A pallet truck is designed to be operated by one individual.
To avoid loosing control while lifting heavy loads, pallet trucks should always be operated carefully. Equipment must be inspected before operating. Clear the wheels area of any obstacle. Make sure that the handle turns smoothly. The pallet should be stacked carefully in order to guarantee that nothing will fall off during transportation.
On the end of the pallet truck's handle, squeeze the level situated on the inside of the metal loop to be able to release the air in the pump and lower the forks. The forks can then be pushed into the pallet slots. The forks should be at the center to guarantee even distribution of the pallet's weight across them. Lift the forks from the ground by pumping the pneumatic lift's handle until the pallet has cleared the ground completely. Do not raise the pallet too high or the forklift can unbalance.
Pull on the handle and then drag it behind you if you want to move the pallet. It is dangerous to push the pallet ahead of you because the thrust could cause it to lose control. Take turns slowly and don't attempt to stop suddenly. Gradually stop, squeeze the lever, and the forks would lower to the ground. Finally, remove the forks from the pallet by pulling them out. Return the pallet truck to its permanent place.
