A kind of machine in the material handling industry that could be used to lift and move loads from one place to another is referred to as a forklift. Every forklift component has a specific function. Various components could be used to move the load horizontally or vertically.
Mast
The parts utilized to lower and lift the load is referred to as the forklift mast. There are different kinds of masts used for lifting loads to different heights: simplex, duplex, triplex and quad.
Power Supply
Forklifts have four different ways of being powered: electric, gas, diesel and propane. The battery is located inside the cab beneath the seat. The propane tank is situated on the back of the truck. The fuel tank on gas and diesel forklifts is underneath the back of the truck.
Cab
The forklift cab is positioned within the middle of the truck. This is where the operator sits and accesses all the informational gauges and controls. The gas pedal, steering wheel, lifting controls, tilting controls and brake are all situated in the cab.
Frame
Carrying all the largest forklift components is the truck frame. This includes the counterweights situated at the rear which prevents the truck from tipping over when loaded. The frame consists of the overhead guard that protects the operator. The undercarriage holds the driveshaft, axles and wheels.
