CareLift Equipment has been designing and making quality rough terrain forklifts since 1962. Each day the company strives to deliver value and help their consumers reach their goals as they know the bottom line is performance and dependability.
There are 2 general types of boom lifts. These units are articulated boom lifts and straight boom lifts. Usually, these models are powered hydraulically. Most commonly straight booms are the great alternative for jobs which need a high reach with no obstructions. The turntable on the machine is capable of rotating 360 degrees with an extendable boom. This extendable boom can be raised vertically to below horizontal. Since the operator can steer and maneuver the vehicle whilst the boom is fully extended, it is a versatile equipment. These units are available in 2 wheel drive or 4 wheel drive, as well as diesel, propane or gas configurations.
The articulated boom lifts are utilized for jobs that require to reach up and over obstacles in order to gain access. These specialized lifts are utilized for jobs that are not easily completed by straight telescopic booms. These lifts are almost identical to the straight boom lift in the majority of aspects except in the ability of the boom to articulate. There are different articulation points on the boom in order to allow it to bend in a range of different directions allowing it to easily move around any objects in the work site.
To be able to maintain stability whilst the boom lift is completely extended, several heavy-duty boom lifts come equipped with outriggers. The outriggers provide the operator with some extra safety and confidence. Proper training is required before operating boom lifts so as to ensure the operator, the jobsite and everyone working in the vicinity stays safe.
Boom lifts enable tasks which used to require many more man power to be carried out in a much shorter time period. These machines have changed the material handling industry and have really increased production.
