What is the Difference between Cushion Tire and Pneumatic Tire?
Among the most common questions regarding this type of machine is knowing the difference between pneumatic tire forklifts and cushion tire forklifts. Each kind of tire is specifically right for different requirements.
Pneumatic Tires have air inside of them, similar to vehicle tires. These tires are great for indoor use but they are most effective in outdoor "yard" applications and on uneven and gravel surfaces.
Used mostly for indoor applications, the cushion tires are made just like a solid industrial tire. The tire will just be useful outdoors on asphalt surfaces. If you do drive cushion tires outside, there is an option to get traction tires on the front of the machine. These are called the drive tires. The back tires or the steer tires are particularly made for steering. Traction tires located on the rear of the forklift would simply wear out quicker. Therefore, if you do have to work outside, having the smooth tires on the rear and traction on the front would be the safest and most economical way to operate.
What is the difference between Air Pneumatic and Solid Pneumatic tires?
It could be quite tricky when trying to know the main distinction between the two kinds of tires. They will work well in both in gravel and asphalt conditions. The main distinction between the two tire types is solid pneumatics are made of solid rubber. This means you cannot gouge, puncture and pop them because they are strong. These kinds of tires are more pricey compared to air pneumatic tires since they are made up of way more rubber. These tires are best suited for locations such as lumber yards and scrap yards where there may be lots of debris or sharp things on the ground.
Air pneumatic tires could be punctured accidentally. When this occurs, you can get flat tires from them. Prior to using a forklift with air pneumatic tires, be sure that the yard is free of sharp metals, nails and scrap debris and by inspecting your work space. In most applications, standard air pneumatic tires work really great.
