On the market nowadays, there is a wide variety of articulating lifts, with many types of lifts to fit each application, circumstance and work place. There are some manufacturers who specify in lifts for dangerous settings including petro-chemical plants, underground tunnel situations, and other places where there is a danger of explosive gases or dust, for example in grain-processing plants.



Other lifts have been designed specially to mount onto large flatbed trucks or onto trailers or onto the back of a pick up truck. There are models that incorporate articulating booms that can be self-propelled and are controlled by the lift operator, whilst others have the ability to pivot 360 degrees.



There are both outdoor and indoor lift models. They come in both 2-wheel and 4-wheel powered options. In several cases, the platforms are adjustable and several kinds of lifts feature baskets where the worker stands. These platforms or baskets are adjustable and enable the workers to swing into location or remain level, depending upon what the operator should complete the task.
