Bud Bushnell established Genie Industries during the year 1966, after he bought the manufacturing rights to a material lift which operated on compressed air. The name Genie originated from the "magic in the bottle" that was utilized to raise and lower the hoist. This device greatly impressed clients and hence, the name was born.
Genie expanded operations and established itself into various new markets, as the demand for platforms and work lifts grew. Over time, when the demand for new machinery to meet numerous applications grew, the company made itself known in many new markets. Like for instance, Genie went into making stick booms, telehandlers, light towers, man-lifts and articulated booms.
Genie decided to acquire a partner who held the same values as a result of the economic slump in the start of the 2000s, when they partnered along with Terex. This company has a history obtaining equipment manufacturers across the world who proved to be a good business match. Genie Industries was sold in the year 2002 and became a part of Terex Corporation.
Because of the Genie name and its solid reputation in the workplace, it was determined to maintain the Genie brand as part of the Terex Aerial Work Platforms. This was only decided after the first few years following the sale. Thus, all Genie machines continue to be marketed under the Genie brand.
The company takes great pride in listening and taking advise from their customers. Genie has always been continually devoted to improving the efficiency and quality in addition to lessening wastes. Even long after the sale has been closed, the company focuses on providing outstanding support. These are the very work disciplines which have made Genie a trusted brand name over the last decades and continue to keep their reputation for top-of-the-line and quality equipment.
Genie's Bi-Energy and DC machines are emission-free, quiet machinery capable of working in delicate work environments. Where the equipment has to be driven significant distances, like in industrial situations, the Genie bi-energy system combines the power of a diesel-powered generator along with the advantages of a 48V DC equipment.
Telescopic booms provide greater horizontal reach, as opposed to any of the different aerial platforms. These machinery are great for small areas or limited access areas in all types of environments. The Genie Telescopic S booms have been designed to provide utmost productivity. These machines deliver the drive speed and supreme traction you require to be able to travel around the job area and work site.
