Forklift Tire Specs
Ever since 1917, important tools utilized in industry and commercial businesses are forklifts. Throughout its history the forklift has changed through different forms, from a basic tractor with a platform attachment to a specialized high-tech machine. Forklift tires have also evolved into particular tires, with various kinds designed to suit specific applications.
Cushion (Solid) Tires
A cushion tire is made of solid polyurethane or rubber and is best for indoor applications on smooth surfaces. The cushion tire tread is bonded or pressed onto the tire's steel ring. Cushion tires are rated ease of steering and for different load capacities. Cushion tires are normally utilized within warehouse atmosphere.
Pneumatic Tires
Foam or air is used to fill pneumatic forklift tires. They are offered in two types: radial or bias. Depending upon the use, they come with different sidewall protection, tread depths and weight. Foam-filled pneumatic forklift tires maintain constant pressures and are less susceptible to punctures. Pneumatic tires are usually used outdoors on surfaces that are uneven and rough.
Pneumatic Shaped Solid/Solid Pneumatic
The comfortable ride which pneumatic tires offer together with the puncture resistance which solid tires provide are the combined features of Solid Pneumatic Hybrid Tires. They are a good alternative to the outdoor pneumatic tire.
Large Rubber and Flotation Tires
Large rubber tires, that could either be foam, solid or pneumatic, are utilized on wheel loader forklifts. These tires are best for moving and loading bulk objects into processing equipment or onto trucks. Large flotation pneumatic tires are suited for masted rough terrain forklifts commonly used at lumberyards, construction sites and auto recyclers.
